D. K. F. Graham

P.O. Box 3099, Sherwood, Whangarei, New Zealand

Abstract Two colonies of an orchid belonging to a genus previously unknown in New Zealand are recorded from the extensive swampland north of Rangaunu Harbour. Stems a metre or more tall bear 20-30 flowers each at least 2 cm long. A survey of the area before a planned drainage scheme is implemented might reveal other rare or novel species.
