Abstract Parahebe linifolia ssp. brevistylis from the South Island, New Zealand is described as new. It differs from the entomophilous ssp. linifolia by several characters associated with its autogamous breeding system. P. linifolia ssp. linifolia occurs to the north, and ssp. brevistylis to the south, of the Rangitata and Whataroa Rivers.
