Plant ecology above timber line on Mt Ruapehu, North Island, New Zealand III. Discussion of approach, results, and implications

D. Scott

Grasslands Division, Regional Station, DSIR, Private Bag, Christchurch, New Zealand

Abstract The results of previous papers (Scott 1977a, b) describing field quantitative measurements followed by statistical analysis are further compared with other work. The use of such approaches in making management decisions is discussed. An example is given of the use of linear programming to assist management under several constraints.
