Gynodioecy in Gingidia flabellata (Umbelliferae)

C. J. Webb

Botany Division, DSIR, Private Bag, Christchurch, New Zealand

Abstract Gingidia flabellata, endemic to Stewart I., New Zealand, is gynodioecious, but female plants were usually reported to be rare. Results presented here show that females are relatively common over most of the range of G. flabellata. Observations on fruit set, flower form, and inflorescence size are also recorded.
