Abstract The discomycete Leptotrochila porri Arx et Boerema is recorded for the first time in New Zealand where it is found as a parasite of leek (Allium porrum L.). It has previously been known only from the Netherlands. Cultures derived from solitary as-cospores produced fertile apothecia. No anamorph was seen and the species is assumed to be a holomorphic teleomorph.

Keywords New Zealand fungi; Ascomycetes; Leptotrochila porri; Allium porrum; taxonomy; plant pathology; descriptions; illustrations
