Phoma nigricans sp. nov. and P. pratorum sp. nov., two common saprophytes from New Zealand

Abstract Two new species of Phoma Sacc. are described. Phoma nigricans sp. nov. was isolated from dead leaf and twig tissue on various woody and herbaceous plants; P. pratorum sp. nov. was isolated from the leaves of grasses. Neither species initiated disease symptoms during inoculation tests.
