Abstract The Algae Nova-Zelandicae Exsiccatae were distributed by Victor W. Lindauer between 1939 and 1953, in fourteen fascicles, each consisting of 25 sheets. The Exsiccatae have served as a reference set of New Zealand algae in both national and international institutions. Taxonomic studies of New Zealand algae have been based on material from the Exsiccatae. This list presents the names of the specimens at the time they were distributed in the ANZE, their current names, and notes about the status of particular specimens. Thirty eight of the 350 sheets have some level of type status (i.e., iso-, isolecto-, para-, syntype).
