Identity of the original Wahlenbergia gracilis (Campanulaceae) and allied species. An historical review of early collections.

Abstract  A chronological survey is presented of manuscript and published descriptions from 1769 to 1913, of radicate species of Campanula and Wahlenbergia collected in the western Pacific. Type specimens are located and assessed in relation to current knowledge to resolve confusion in species identification.
