A fundamental goal of the committee is to encourage the
development of a technologically literate society and to emphasise the
importance of technology to New Zealand’s future.
A key role of the group is to ensure the smooth transition of
information about technology-related issues within and from the Royal
Society.
Environmental, social and economic issues in relation to technology
are seen to be of equal importance.
The group is responsible for entering into a well defined programme
of activities and advise the Royal Society council on all matters
relating to the area.
