New Zealand Science & Technology Medals

These medals were instituted by the Royal Society of New Zealand at the request of the Government to recognise and honour those who have made exceptional contributions to New Zealand society and culture through activities in the broad fields of science, mathematics, social science, and technology. They are awarded for conspicuous, continuing contributions to the promotion and advancement of science, mathematics, social science, or technology over an extended period, or for an outstanding specific contribution to the advancement of science, mathematics, social science, or technology. The medals are funded by the New Zealand Government and administered on contract by the Royal Society of New Zealand.

Nominations close on 30 June each year.
