Appointed Teacher Fellowship

The aim of these Fellowships is to bridge some of the barriers that have excluded teachers from low decile schools making an application. Specifically these barriers are mainly due to difficulties replacing teachers of lower decile schools for a whole year and difficulties for teachers in finding a host in local areas.

RSNZ seek hosts with projects and offer these throughout the year to teachers in lower decile schools. Teachers are either identified by the RSNZ in conjunction with their Principal, or the teacher contacts the RSNZ directly. Projects, advertised on this website, are for one or two terms and are modified for successful applicants to meet their interests and needs. An outcome of an Appointed Teacher Fellowship is a teaching resource which can be used within the local cluster schools.
  • Applicants must be fully NZ registered, practicing primary, intermediate or secondary teachers in a permanent position currently employed by a BOT of a decile 4 or below school.
  • Applications will only be accepted from teachers with a minimum of five years NZ teaching experience.
  • Application is by CV and application form and are accepted throughout the year.
