Alpha 106 - The iron hypothesis

Why would 26 scientists load the research vessel RV Tangaroa with 10 tonnes of iron sulphate and sail 1200 nautical miles south into heavy seas and winds up to 55 knots? Then tip their precious cargo into the wild Southern Ocean?

These modern-day scientist adventurers must have had a good reason. They did – they wanted to test the iron (Fe) hypothesis.
