The new BP Challenge resource bookWelcome to the new BP Challenge Resource. This resource has been written by a group of writers who have had many years experience facilitating BP Challenge events. They have not only written new BP Challenges but have also written two themed units based around "Our School" and "Exploring"Theatre". These units can be used in the classroom over a period of weeks or a term. However if you want a "quick" BP Challenge then some of the popular BP Challenges that feature in the last edition also remain in this resource. The new resource has been split into several parts. The pages can be downloaded and photocopied for your convenience. You will also see that most BP Challenges have teacher notes attached. You are able to add your particular comments to these note sheets also. The last edition of the BP Technology file will also still remain on our website. The Royal Society welcomes your comments, suggestions or improvements. One of the advantages of the new resource being on-line is that it can be amended and you can of course adapt the BP Challenges to suit your own needs. The Royal Society would also be glad to hear from you if you have written BP Challenges that you have used with your students. These could be added to this resource. The BP Challenge is a very successful programme that has been used in classrooms all over New Zealand for the last 14 years involving thousands of students. It can be run using common and readily available materials such as newspaper, string, sellotape, or more authentic materials can be used. The BP Challenges are easily adaptable and promotes the development of essential skills and develops positive attitudes towards learning. The Challenges are practical and hands-on, motivational and are also a lot of fun. We hope that you enjoy the new BP Challenge resource. All files are in PDF and require Acrobat 3 or later. If you want them saved onto your own disk rather than opening in your browser window, right-click on the link and choose "Save link to disk".
