Student showcaseSamuel BeachamSamuel was selected to attend the Australian International Space School in 1999. After finishing 7th form, Samuel joined the Royal New Zealand Navy as an Electronic Technician. Since joining he has served on HMNZS Canterbury and Te Mana. Samuel has travelled to the majority of the Australian ports and done a tour of duty up in the Gulf and visited most of the ports of the UAE and India on the way home. He has gained level 4 in Electronics and has also attended multiple Microsoft courses for his impending role on the new protector vessel HMNZS Otago. After his Gulf tour Samuel got married and now has a daughter. They live in Devonport close to the Naval base. Samuel enjoys being a father and husband and all the challenges the Navy throws at him. His spare time is spent (funnily enough) with his wife daughter and two cats. When he manages to sneak some time to himself he is either in the garden or under/in his car, that he is currently upgrading from a crusty 1.8L SOHC auto to a 2L Quad Cam V6 with variable valve timing and lift with a manual gearbox. |
