Science in societyWorkshopAs an initial measure, the Royal Society of New Zealand, together with the Ministry of Research, Science and Technology hosted a one-day workshop entitled 'Science in Society', held at Te Papa, Wellington on 20 June, 2001. Eighty representatives from science-based organisations were invited to discuss issues such as: trust in science, management of technological risk and uncertainty, mechanisms for public participation in science, and communication of science.
