The Royal Society of New Zealand Council is constituted as follows:

  1. One President;
  2. Three elected Vice-Presidents with specific responsibilities as listed below:
    1. Biological and Life Sciences;
    2. Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Engineering and Technology;
    3. Social Sciences and Humanities;
  3. Three elected Councillors
  4. One elected Representative of the Regional Constituent Organisations;
  5. One elected Representative of the Constituent Organisations; and
  6. Up to three Co-opted Councillors

The Chief Executive Officer appointed under Sec 26.1 of the Act is Dr Di McCarthy ONZM.

The Royal Society of New Zealand has its office at 4 Halswell Street, Thorndon, Wellington.
