Checklist
For submissions to research journals published by The Royal Society of New
Zealand
Before submitting your paper, please pay attention to the following requirements
on content and presentation. This checklist is for your convenience: please
use it.
GENERAL
- The paper has undergone (institutional) peer review
- The topic of the submission is within the scope of the Journal as described
on the inside front cover
- The full manuscript has not been submitted/published elsewhere (including
on the Internet)
- All co-authors (where applicable) agree to the submission
PRESENTATION
- At least one copy of the manuscript including all tables and figures
are provided
- One low-resolution PDF file of the manuscript (with line numbering included),
tables, and figures is submitted on disk, as electronic mail attachments, or
via the journal submission web form
- Double line spacing throughout (include. references, captions); tabs
not spaces used in table formatting
- All pages are numbered, printed on one side only
- Full title, running head, and all authors’ names and addresses
are provided on the title page
- The abstract is c. 150 words (max. 200)
- Keywords are listed
- The entire paper (excl. tables) is under c. 5000 words unless an explanation
for greater length is given
- All figures, tables, and references are cited in the text; all cited
items are supplied
- The bibliographic references are entirely in unabbreviated form (authors’ initials
excepted)
- The style of the manuscript, references, tables and figures follows
as far as possible the “Instructions for Authors”, printed in the
first journal issue of each volume (year)
- Up-to-date postal address, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail address
(where applicable) for the corresponding author are supplied
