Kyphosus vaigiensis (Kyphosidae), a new fish record from northeastern New Zealand

A drummer (Family Kyphosidae) collected at Little Barrier Island, Hauraki Gulf (36deg.10[[minute]] S, 175deg.06[[minute]] E), is a new record for New Zealand. The herbivorous Kyphosus vaigiensis (Quoy & Gaimard, 1825) is widespread in the tropical Indo-Pacific, and is the third species of its genus to be recorded from New Zealand waters.
