Distribution of Ostracoda around a coastal sewer outfall: a case study from Wellington, New Zealand

Stephen H. Eagar*

The distribution of ostracods around a coastal sewer at Moa Point on the south coast of Wellington, New Zealand showed that some species are particularly sensitive to high levels of pollution, whereas others can tolerate a broader spectrum of conditions. Ostracods are, therefore, useful indicators of water quality.

Keywords   pollution; Moa Point; Wellington; Ostracoda; benthos; sewage.
