AN UNUSUAL STRAIN OF TOBACCO MOSAIC VIRUS FROM ORCHIDS

Abstract A strain of tobacco mosaic virus was isolated from 11 varieties of Cymbidium orchids. This strain induces minute lesions on Nicotiana glutinosa L., but does not infect N. tabacum L. It is not closely related serologically to a common strain of tobacco mosaic virus.
