Abstract A strain of tobacco mosaic virus was isolated from 11 varieties of
Cymbidium orchids. This strain induces minute lesions on
Nicotiana glutinosa L., but does not infect
N. tabacum L. It is not closely related serologically to a common strain of tobacco mosaic virus.
