Abstract lpomoea pes-caprae is one of the commonest strand plants on tropical and subtropical coasts, growing in the "lpomoea association" (Schimper, 1903, pp. 388-90) or the lpomoea pes-caprae I Canavaliu community (Walter, 1962, p. 199).
