Abstract  Evidence from floral morphology, cytology, and hybridism is used to establish the monophyly and limits of the genus Anaphalioides. New combinations made are Anaphalioides alpina and A. bellidioides (both in New Zealand) and A. mariae and A. papuana (both in New Guinea). A. keriensis and A. trinervis are treated as a single variable species. Other New Zealand species are A. subrigida and A. hookeri.

Keywords  Anaphalis; Anaphalioides; Anaphaloides; Asteraceae; Compositae; Helichrysum; Gnaphalieae; Gnaphalium; New Guinea; New Zealand; biosystematics; new combinations; taxonomy
