Abstract The oldest legitimate name for the Chilean
conifer Lleuque, Podocarpus spicatus, is reinstated . The subsequent assignment
of this taxon to the genus Prumnopitys is accepted, and the new
combination Prumnopitys spicata is made. Wher e
possible, previous names applied to this taxon are
typified .
