Abstract  The new hyphomycete species Spiropes dictyosporus is described based on specimens on colonies of the sooty moulds Euantennaria mucronata and Capnokyma corticola collected in the North Island of New Zealand. The species is the only known species of Spiropes with dictyoconidia. The conidia measure (15-)20-25(-35) x 6-9(-10) um.
