Metzgeria (Hepaticae) in Australasia and the Pacific

Abstract   A total of 58 species names of Metzgeria have been recorded from Australasia and some island groups of the Pacific Ocean. Of this number only 18 are recognised. Eighteen new synonyms are proposed. Metzgeria albinea Spruce, M. epiphylla A.Evans, M. decrescens Steph., and M. violacea (Ach.) Dumort. are excluded from this region.
