Abstract   We record Utricularia geminiscapa as a naturalised species from the West Coast (Westland and Nelson) of the South Island, New Zealand. It occurs from Westport to Haast as a local aquatic species of acidic shallow water in lowland bogs, fens, and pakihi. Plants of U. geminiscapa from near Westport have been the basis of the previous South Island records of the indigenous U. australis (= U. protrusa).
