Abstract  `Hadlee' is a new blue pea developed for the New Zealand field pea export industry. This cultivar is the first to be released in New Zealand with resistance to pea seed borne mosaic virus. In regional evaluation trials conducted in Canterbury, over three successive seasons, `Hadlee' has produced a seed yield consistently higher than the standard commercial cultivar `PV12'.

Keywords  `Hadlee'; blue field pea; Pisum sativum L.; pea seed borne mosaic virus
