Abstract  `Allure' (Pisum sativum L.) is a new white field pea, of French origin, released by Crop & Food Research for growing in the southern cropping regions of New Zealand. A semi-leafless plant type with more upright growth habit, `Allure' has out-performed the commercial standards `Birte' and `Bohatyr' for yield and ease of harvest in four regional evaluation trials conducted between 1991 and 1994 in Southland, New Zealand.
