Abstract At least five belemnite species, of mostly Middle Tithonian age, are present in the upper Ohauan Kinohaku Siltstone at Kawhia Harbour, New Zealand. Two are previously undescribed. They and three known taxa are described using modern methods. Belemnopsis aucklandica trechmanni is present through most of the upper Ohauan, Hibolithes minor (Hauer), Hibolithes kaimangoensis n. sp., Hibolithes otekensis n. sp., and Hibolithes (formerly Belemnopsis) spathi (Stevens) occur near the top of the stage.
