The generic names Oxyloma and Hemimenia were used by Gardner & Campbell (2002) for new genera of Jurassic Astartidae bivalvia. These names have since been found to be junior homonyms of the pulmonate Oxyloma Westerlund, 1885, in the family Succineidae, and the solenogastre Hemimenia Nierstrasz, 1902, the type of the family Hemimeniidae.

To resolve these homonyms, we propose Oxyeurax n. gen. (gender feminine) for Oxyloma Gardner & Campbell, 2002, non Westerlund, 1885, with Oxyloma laticostata Gardner & Campbell, 2002, as type species, and Hemipelex n. gen. (gender feminine) for Hemimenia Gardner & Campbell, 2002, non Nierstrasz, 1902, with Hemimenia latifalcata Gardner & Campbell, 2002 as type species.
