ECHINODERMS FROM CAPE HALLETT, ROSS SEA

D. G. McKnight

New Zealand Oceanographic Institute, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Wellington

Abstract Fifteen species of echinoderms are recorded from collections made through sea-ice off Cape Hallett in the Ross Sea; 12 of these are new for this area. Except for one ophiuroid, here described as a new species, all are known to occur elsewhere in the Ross Sea. Crinoids and holothurians were not taken and it is probable that only a portion of the fauna has been collected.
