ARGULUS JAPONICUS THIELE, 1900 (CRUSTACEA: BRANCHIURA) - A NEW RECORD FOR NEW ZEALAND

R. L. C. Pilgrim

Department of Zoology, University of Canterbury, Christchurch

Abstract A single mature female of Argulus japonicus is recorded. The specimen was probably introduced with goldfish from South East Asia. Differences between its actual morphology and details in several published accounts are discussed. Discrepancies are believed to be due to errors or omissions in the latter.
