FRESHWATER FISHES OF THE CHATHAM ISLANDS

Abstract Indigenous freshwater fishes of the Chatham Islands include Geotria australis, Anguilla australis schmidti, A. dieffenbachi, Retropinna retropinna, R. chathamensis, Galaxias argenteus, G. fasciatus, G. attenuatus, G. brevipinnis, and Gobiomorphus huttoni. Their habitats are described and attempts at introducing trout are discussed.
