THE PLANKTONIC ALGAE OF AUCKLAND SEWAGE TREATMENT PONDS

Abstract This list and the notes on each species have been compiled from a study of ponds at sewage treatment plants near Auckland City between 1962 and 1965. It is intended to serve as a guide to the types of phytoplankton found in this specialised habitat and as an, addition to the List of Fresh-Water Algae of New Zealand (Chapman et al. 1957). Keys to the genera and selected species are given.
