THE GROWTH OF NEW ZEALAND FRESHWATER EELS IN THREE CANTERBURY STREAMS

Abstract The growth of both species of New Zealand freshwater eel, Anguilla australis and A. dieffenbachii, was studied by tagging in three streams using a stainless steel subcutaneous tag. Possible causes of the differences in growth rates are discussed.
