LIMNOLOGY OF WESTERN SPRINGS, AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND

Abstract A limnological survey over 12 months was made of Western Springs, a small urban lake which has had an explosive growth of macrophytes in recent years. Seasonal data given for the lake include physical, chemical and biological factors. These are presented in an attempt to elucidate the reasons for the very high primary productivity exhibited by this ecosystem.
