ROCK LOBSTERS FEEDING ON OYSTERS (NOTE)

Abstract Captive rock lobsters (Jasus edwardsii) were able to open and eat live dredge oysters {Ostrea lutaria) by progressively breaking away the shell edges with the mandibles and walking legs. Oysters are probably of only slight significance in the natural diet of rock lobsters.
