Abstract A comparison was made between the electrophoretic patterns of isozymes of esterases and glucosephosphate isomerases of adult snapper Chryosophrys auratus, suspected snapper larvae, jack mackerel Trachurus novaezelandiae larvae, and blue mackerel Scomber australasicus larvae. The suspected snapper larvae revealed similar isozyme patterns to those of the adults, but differed from the other two larval species.
