Records of Upper Cretaceous and Tertiary Bankia Gray (Mollusca: Teredinidae) from New Zealand

Abstract Specimens of Bankia spp. from the Upper Cretaceous of the Wairarapa district and the middle Miocene of Hawkes Bay, New Zealand, are described. Other species of fossil Teredinidae recorded from New Zealand are reviewed. Except for Bankia turneri Powell & Bartrum 1929, all names previously proposed are nomina dubia.
