A simple method of taking a subsample of zooplankton

Abstract A simple method of subsampling a zooplankton sample is described. Statistical analysis of four methods tested showed that bubbling a sample by blowing into it through a graduated pipette and then sucking up the sample gives results comparable to using a swirling flask and a Stempel pipette, to using a swirling flask and a graduated pipette, or bubbling and using a Stempel pipette.
