Dinoflagellates of the genus Dinophysis Ehrenberg from New Zealand coastal waters

Abstract Eight marine species of the Dinoflagel-late genus Dinophysis are recorded from New Zealand coastal waters. Some notes are given on the morphology and range of variation in the New Zealand specimens as seen in the scanning electron microscope.
