Some coastal marine dinoflagellates from around New Zealand

Abstract Species of marine dinoflagellates belonging to the Families Oxytoxaceae, Podolam-padaceae, Heterodiniaceae, and Prorocentraceae are described for the first time from New Zealand coastal waters. Some notes are given on the morphology and range of morphological variations in the New Zealand specimens as seen in the scanning electron microscope.
