Abstract Twenty-six species of Textulariina (agglutinated foraminifera) are recorded and illustrated from Recent sediments from Wellington Harbour. Reophax cylindricus and Rotaliammina sigmoidea are described as new and Reophax catenata, R. scottii, R. subfusiformis emend. Hog-lund. Trochammina multiloculata, and Rotaliammina cf. mayori are recorded living for the first time from New Zealand. Most living textulariines occur in silty pelites in the central harbour basin in an association dominated by Reophax spp. A textulariine association dominated by Siphotextu-laria spp. in the sandy, current-influenced harbour entrance zone appears to be mostly allochthonous.

Keywords Textulariina; agglutinated foraminifera: Recent foraminifera; Reophax cylindricus n. sp.; Rotaliammina sigmoidea n. sp.; taxonomy; Protozoa: new species; new records
