Abstract Results from a numerical model for the relative distribution of amplitudes at the shore for several of the main seiche oscillation modes in Lake Taupo are given. Data of this kind are useful for improved water level measurements on the lake shore. Accurate level measurements are needed for water use monitoring and also for earth deformation recording in a volcanic area.
