Abstract A
new hoplonemertean species belonging to the
genus
Nipponnemertes is described from kelp holdfasts washed up on two
New Zealand beaches following a major tropical storm. The new species is
characterised by the presence of circulating erythrocytes and the presence of
distinctive "nuage-like" material in oocytes.
