A new species of Sigaus from Alexandra, New Zealand (Orthoptera: Acrididae)

Abstract  The grasshopper Sigaus childi (Orthoptera: Acrididae, Catantopinae) new species from Alexandra, Central Otago is described. The genitalia of male Sigaus minutus Bigelow is also described and compared to that of the new species. A description of the external morphological characters distinguishing these two species is given.
