Genus Paracladura Brunetti of the Australian Region. I. Characteristics of the antipoda group of species; a new species described (Diptera: Trichoceridae)

Abstract  Three species of the genus Paracladura Brunetti from New Zealand are redescribed: P. antipoda (Mik), P. harrisi Alexander and P. maori (Alexander). Neotype of P. antipoda is designated. A new species related to P. maori, P. oparara, n. sp., is described. The general characteristics of male genitalia of this group are given, and the functional morphology of the tarsal claw in Paracladura is described.
