Protocols for enumerating the principal caudal fin rays of fishes

Abstract  A protocol for enumeration of the principal caudal fin rays in teleost fishes is suggested, in which fin rays are numbered in a ventral-dorsal but antero-postero direction, as are the hypurals in the caudal fin skeleton.
