Between January 1996 and May 2000 I led a team of researchers from
the Department of Conservation studying the home range and spatial
organisation of introduced predators in and around Trounson Kauri Park
(Gillies et al. 2007). Our purpose was to describe the distribution of
feral cats and mustelids before and during pest control operations
there, and to provide site-specific information to assist managers in
their efforts to control these animals.
