How do I use the Royal Society of New Zealand Bookshop?

(1) SEARCH FOR ITEM(s): Use Search or Browse to find the publication you'd like to purchase. This will come up with a list of items that match a word or category you searched for.

(2) ADD ITEM TO THE CART: To add an item to your order, click 'Add to Cart'.

(3) THE CART: When you add an item you are taken to the Cart. Here you can change the specific quantity of items, or if you've changed your mind, remove items from your order. To keep shopping, simply click on 'Go Back/Keep Shopping'. Or if you have finished shopping proceed to step 4.

(4) ENTER PAYMENT DETAILS & PLACE ORDER: When you're ready to buy the items in your Cart, click the 'Enter Payment Details' button. This will take you through to the secure part of the site where you enter your payment details and delivery address. To complete the order click the 'Place Order' button.

WARNING: Once you've clicked this button the order has been sent, so please double-check that your contact details are correct.

(5) ORDER CONFIRMATION: Once you've clicked the 'Place Order' button, please wait a few seconds. You will then be issued a statement confirming that the order has been received. You will also be issued an order reference number. Please print or save this page for your records. You can also use the order reference number to check your Order Status at any time. As a backup, you will also be sent an email confirming your order has been received.

What is the 'Cart'? How do I get the Cart back if I've gone to a different page?

Just as in 'real life' shopping, you collect items you wish to purchase by putting them in a 'Cart'. The Cart remembers the number and price of the items you add to your order. When you are ready to purchase click on 'View the Cart' shown near the top of your screen.

What if I want to change the number of items in my order?

If you want to change the quantities in your Cart enter the new quantities then click the 'Refresh' button. The Cart will add up a new total. You can also remove items from the Cart by selecting the 'Tick to delete' option then clicking the 'Refresh' button.

How do I get back to the rest of the site?

When you are in the Bookshop, you'll still be able to get back to the main Royal Society homepage. To do this click on the RSNZ logo in the top left-hand corner of the screen.

Is it safe to use my credit card on the Royal Society Bookshop?

Yes, we use Secure Socket Layer encryption. When your personal information is transmitted over the internet nobody can read it except us. Click here to find out more.

What happens to my credit card number after it's been used?

We do not keep hold of your credit card details once an order has been processed. For a reorder you will need to enter your card details again.

Which credit cards do you accept?

We accept Visa and MasterCard (plus American Express for non-NZ residents).

I don't want to pay by credit card so what other payment options do you offer?

For online orders we accept only credit card. However, if you order by mail or fax click here for details.

What are the shipping or postage costs?

All our prices include shipping to your location

Can I returns items?

How can I lodge a complaint or inquiry?

What if I cannot find the item I want?

Contact us by emailing sales@rsnz.org, or fax +64 4 473 1841 or ring +64 4 472 7421, and let us know what you're looking for.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

If you are a New Zealand resident and the item is in stock, it will probably take 5 working days to arrive. If you are from overseas it can take up to 15 working days. You can track the progress of your order by clicking on the Check Order Status link.

What if something goes wrong?
